Changelog for WordPress.org Updates?

Recently Peter Westwood wrote about a new feature for WordPress plugin authors on wordpress.org, about how to implement better communication between authors and users of the plugins about which changes where made in between versions, so the users would be better suited deciding to upgrade or not.

Today I noticed a new version of WordPress being released, version 2.8.3, and it occurred to me that I wanted to know what was in that update?

The information in the header of my admin pages does not give a lot of information,

New WordPress version available

and the actual update-area even less so:

Upgrade your WordPress version

So, how about adding a bit more information underneath like you have added the feature for plugin authors?

I really think its a good idea for authors such as myself to be more transparent and informative about the changes we make in between versions, and I have started using it myself on SEO Booster Lite, so please consider using it for the WordPress updates also.

(In case you need to know, 2.8.3 is a recommended security update).
